Freight Brokerage & Logistics Sales Professional
Learn the freight broker's job end to end — from qualifying shippers to covering the load to protecting margin.
Who it's for: Operators moving toward brokerage rather than hauling
What you'll learn
What you'll learn
- Understand the broker's role and where the possession boundary sits
- Qualify shippers and run a discovery-first sales conversation
- Source and vet carriers, and recognize double-brokering and identity fraud
- Price a lane, negotiate both sides, and protect margin after the quote
Brokering is a separately licensed line of work from dispatching your own trucks. See how dispatching differs from brokering.
The commercial side
Built to teach the business of brokering, not just the mechanics
A broker's income comes from finding and keeping shippers, not from knowing the paperwork alone. The curriculum treats that as core material, not an afterthought.
- Shipper prospecting and building an Ideal Customer Profile
- Cold outreach — calls and emails, with a real follow-up cadence
- Running a discovery call instead of a rate-quote pitch
- Handling the objections a new broker hears most often
- Managing an honest, dated sales pipeline
- Growing a first load into a standing account
- Selling inside the broker/carrier boundary — no overpromising, no misrepresentation
Before you ask
Frequently asked questions
- Does this course grant me broker authority or a license?
- No. Registering as a freight broker is a federal process handled directly through the FMCSA. This course teaches the operating model and the sales/business skills — it does not file paperwork or grant authority on your behalf, and it is not a substitute for qualified legal or regulatory counsel.
- Is this the same as the Freight Dispatch program?
- No — dispatching and brokering are different, separately regulated roles. A dispatcher represents a motor carrier's own trucks; a broker arranges freight without ever taking possession of it. See the FAQ link below for the full comparison.
- Will I get a certificate?
- Certificate eligibility for this program has not been authorized yet — that is a separate decision from the curriculum being complete. We will not claim a certificate is included until it actually is.
- When does enrollment open?
- Enrollment is open now as an early-access staging offer. The curriculum is still going through independent regulatory and answer-key review, so treat this as an early release rather than a finished, fully reviewed one.
